Meet the judges, read their books

Michigan Court of Appeals Judge William C. Whitbeck and former Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Lawrence M. Glazer will be hitting all four campuses of The Thomas M. Cooley Law School mid-May in support of their books.

As part of Cooley’s 2011 Michigan Notable Books Tour, on May 16, the authors will be at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus at noon and the Ann Arbor campus at 5 p.m. Then, on May 18, they’ll appear at the Grand Rapids campus at noon, followed by the Lansing campus at 5 p.m.

Both books probe corruption in government: Whitbeck wrote “To Account for Murder,” a legal/political thriller set in Michigan in the 1940s and based on a real case; while Glazer penned the political biography “Wounded Warrior: The Rise and Fall of Michigan Governor John Swainson,” chronicling the actual investigation and conviction of Swainson for bribery.
