Lawyers battling over money from jail death lawsuit

“A federal judge is being asked to sort out a squabble over who gets how much of a $245,000 settlement from a lawsuit over the death of Yolanda Flores at the Lenawee County Jail nearly three years ago,” reports the Daily Telegram.

“Federal District Judge David Lawson rejected a proposed distribution on Aug. 21 that would have given attorneys all but $80,000 of the settlement. Since then, claims have been filed by several lawyers involved in the case as well as by a landlord seeking rent one of the lawyers failed to pay on a former office.”
