We at Michigan Lawyers Weekly were proud yesterday to name our 2010 Lawyer of the Year, David A. Moran, co-director of the University of Michigan Innocence Clinic, at our annual Leaders in the Law luncheon in Troy.
Moran left his teaching position at Wayne State University in 2008 to start work at U of M, where he helped open the clinic. In its first year of operation, the clinic successfully worked to on the exoneration of two men, Marvin and DeShawn Reed. The clinic was also able to get new trials for two others.
