Michigan Information & Research Service is reporting that the Michigan Democratic Party is naming “at least three judges are already seeking a Democratic state Supreme Court nomination for 2010. …
“They are: Wayne County Circuit Court judges Deborah Thomas and Robert Columbo and Oakland County Circuit Judge Denise Langford Morris.”

It’s Colombo.
Michigan Secretary of State records show that, on January 22, 2010, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge filed a Statement of Organization for Mary Beth Kelly for Justice.
Judge Kelly was appointed to the Wayne County Circuit Court bench in 1999 by GOP Gov. John Engler. Will this be the GOP’s nominee to replace Justice Elizabeth Weaver?
Doubtful. The Republicans want a strong candidate from the west side of the state to compliment the east side bent of the court. Look for veteran Court of Appeals Judge Jane Markey to get the nod.
I believe it will be Judge Langford; I’ve heard only good stories about her understanding and fair interpretation of the law and its effects on every day people like me.
I guess we’ll see what happens.
