Saginaw councilman seeks strict parental responsibility laws in city

“A Saginaw city councilman is pursuing policy that makes parents more accountable for their children including a provision that could get a child’s guardian in trouble for not approaching police about their youth’s criminal activities,” according to the Saginaw News.

“Following a string of shootings involving Saginaw youths, Councilman Greg Branch in September said he planned to bring the council a proposal to strengthen the city’s existing ‘parental responsibility’ policy.”


Kallman named to State Bar’s Board of Commissioners

David A. Kallman, a family law practitioner in Lansing, has been appointed to the State Bar of Michigan’s Board of Commissioners.

The Michigan Supreme Court announced the appointment today.

Kallman, who is a home schooling champion, will serve a three-year term as a commissioner-at-large. He takes office Sept. 17.
